How long can I wear Acuvue Oasys contact lenses
Acuvue Oasys contacts with Hydraclear Plus are two week lenses, meaning that you can wear them for approximately 14 days total. If not worn on a daily basis, you may be able to spread that out for slightly longer periods of time. This means that just because your Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus lens was opened on the 1st of the month, you may not have to throw the contact lens away on the 14th, if you have only worn it 8 times. The normal contact lens wear time is about 12-14 hours a day. It is healthiest to take the lenses out at night; if over worn it is possible to develop corneal ulcers, or other sight-threatening problems.
Can you sleep in Acuvue Oasys contacts?
While it is never recommended to sleep with contacts in your eyes, Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus contact lenses are FDA approved for overnight and extended wear use. This is intended as a two week lens to be taken out every night; however, at the discretion of you eye doctor, you may be able to sleep in Acuvue Oasys contacts with Hydraclear Plus for up to 6 nights followed by at least one night with them out. If the contact lenses are over worn there is a higher incidence of complications, comfort issues, and risks to the health of your eyes.
